Intermittent Bolus Catheters

Developed by Ban Tsui at Alberta, this is an obvious improvement on the cumbersome epidural type catheter. Technically very similar to placing an angiocath, this catheter-over-needle set up creates the opportunity to have single shot speed and efficiency with the potential for prolonged anesthesia through a second...or third bolus depending on ED length of stay.  The idea would be a bolus at arrival, then a second "top off" bolus at transfer/discharge from the Emergency Department.
